BREASTFEEDING INFORMATION & SUPPORT FOR PREGNANT MUMS

LITTLE FINGERS PLAY AND STAY /PALFREY INFANTS PARENT & TODDLER GROUP / SOUTH WALSALL LIBRARY PARENT & TODDLER SESSIONS
Parent & toddler groups are stimulating and enjoyable environments where children can have fun whilst engaging in developmentally appropriate activities which can improve their personal, social and emotional development. The activities at the parent & toddler groups are aimed at improving children’s communication, language, literacy, mathematical, physical and creative skills. Children learn songs and rhymes, listen to stories and learn to share through the various activities in the group. Parents / carers have an opportunity to make new friends at the groups and engage with their children in play outside the home environment. They also have an opportunity to be involved in the running of the groups.

MATERNITY SUPPORT SERVICES
This group is a one stop shop for maternity support and consists of: Midwifery Post Natal Clinic, Baby Clinic Stay & Play and the Breastfeeding Support Group (which meets on the last Thursday of each month). Whether you are pregnant or have a baby you are welcome to come along to this group (it does not matter who your doctor is). SureStart staff along with local Health Visitors and Midwives are on hand to offer advice and support on a range of issues including breastfeeding, weaning, minor ailments, depression after birth and much more!!! We are also working alongside the midwives and health professionals at local surgeries and health centres throughout the week where we register pregnant mums with SureStart Palfrey and give them a Goody Bag and information about our services!!!

STAY & SPLASH SWIMMING SESSIONS
Come along with your little ones to these fun swimming sessions at Palfrey Junior School's Learner Pool. Featuring lessons from a qualified swimming teacher, these sessions take place every Wednesday (excluding school half term and Bank Holidays) 10.15-10.45am or 10.45-11.15am. Please book and pay in advance of sessions at Sure Start Palfrey Children's Centre (South St) as places are limited. Costs: £1.50 for one adult & one child (0-5 years) (non-refundable). Please note that for health & safety reasons jewellery and plasters cannot be worn in the pool. All children must wear swimming hats.Swimming pants must be worn by children who are potty training.

WALKS IN PALFREY PARK
Come and get some fresh air and exercise and enjoy a healthy, relaxing walk around Palfrey Park. You can register to collect Groundmiles Stamps for every walk you take part in which can be exchanged for vouchers and you can also ask about training to become a Walk Leader (the Walk Leaders have been trained through the Walsall Walk On Project).Meeting Place: Dale Street (main entrance) Distance: 1KM Duration: 20-30 Mins Surface: Tarmac / Hard Sand & Gravel Intensity : Easy, ideal introduction to walking

WONDERFUL WORLD OF STORIES
This group offers a fun, friendly atmosphere for you and your child to discover the wonderful world of books. There are themed stories and creative activities every week and you can also borrow books for your child from the SureStart library. Healthy snacks are provided.
