Anisha Patel- Community Outreach Worker
I am a Community Outreach Worker, working in groups with parents/carers and children under five years.

I work in Palfrey, Caldmore, Delves, Chuckery, Paddock, and Park Hall, setting up groups and working in partnership with various organisations. Currently I work in partnership with the Fullbrook Nursery, Nippers Parent and Toddler group, Palfrey Day Nursery, and Teenage Parents project.

I develop, plan, lead and support groups to work with parents in encouraging their babies and young children's development, using the Early Years Foundation Stage and Every Child Matters frameworks. Also, I work closely with the Father's Worker in running the Saturday Dads Club which takes place every month. During the school holidays, I work with my colleagues to provide lots of fun and creative activities, with trips for families too.

A colleague, and I are starting a new exciting project bringing play into homes of parents with two year olds who are starting Nursery in September 2011. We will provide a number of sessions based on the children's interests to support their learning, and share ideas with parents for activities at home. Also, we will talk about services that are available in the community. Play is so important to children's development and future learning in school. If you are interested please contact me on 01922 642382.

I have enjoyed telling you about what I do, and invite you to come along, and join in our activities.

I look forward to meeting you all.
