Addressing health inequalities has always been an important aspect of our work
The aim of this project was to improve maternity services for Asian women and promoting shared leadership/effective partnership working.
Much has been done to improve health outcomes for differing communities. Involvement in this project has helped us to focus and concentrate on improving services and getting things right for one community for which the learning be shared and translated into other areas.
Outcomes of this project include better information about pregnancy in order to reduce the number of baby deaths and low births weight and the development of tailor made services to meet the needs of father’s before, during and after pregnancy. An additional impact has seen an increase in the number mothers and fathers attending our weekly Baby Clinic at Sure Start Palfrey Children’s Centre and the bi-monthly Baby Clinic at Chuckery & Paddock Children’s Centre.
